I have successfully cut out my Max Suits!
They have only to be sewn together now, which I’m going to do tomorrow.
I had a total of 8 meters of fabric, I believe, which seemed to be 2 meters too much. I thought it’d be a lot closer than that…Ah well.
This project was really useful for me! It taught me how boy shapes differ from girl shapes while making costumes, as I plan to wear these with a friend.
Anyway, it’s looking awesome! I can’t wait to put it together :)
My first project is to make a Max suit!
Max, of course, being the kid from Where The Wild Things Are.
The suits I plan to make deviate from the original design because I want them to be functional as a hoodie and a pair of PJ pants after all is said and done.
Today, I made a paper cutout of the hoodie to try to determine how much fabric I’d need, what the proportions are going to be like, and whether it would, indeed, work.
The dimensions that ended up making it work were only a bit different from what i had anticipated.
It’s looking like 280cm x 113cm is the amount of fabric needed for my hoodie–Google tells me this is about 9.19′ x 3.71′. I’ll figure out a rule for that some other time…
Just a preliminary post to see how the layout looks. More to come someday? Mebbeh? :D
